I have struggled with autoimmune issues most of my adult life; from blood issues resulting in spleen removal when I was 16, to nasty sun-related skin rashes and strange tendon flare ups for no apparent reason. It wasn’t until after major stress (my mother died) that I was diagnosed with Lupus. I had gained a fair amount of weight, struggled with my skin, and had frequent joint pain and twinges. I was put on 300mg of Plaquenil and wore layers of zinc oxide that made me look like a zombie.

I took up road biking as I reduced my run pace and distance, and found Christy Keely, aka Coach Rocket, and decided I wanted to hire a coach to help me meet some athletic goals and maybe lean up a little.

Rocket took me on, and with incremental changes to clean up my diet and focus on healthy habits, I dropped 50lbs. Over the last 3 years my skin cleared up, my chance at being the cutest zombie was foiled (no more zinc oxide) and my general health improved so much that we are weaning down from Plaquenil, and I have completed 2 half Ironman distance triathlon races! Living with an autoimmune disorder is always going to present its challenges – but I have been equipped with the knowledge to manage it, and the tools to research and navigate through life’s twists and turns.

I am motivated to help others follow a similar path because – having lived it – I know it works, and I want to make a difference in my lifetime, to help others. I have tremendous faith in the power of incremental lifestyle changes and nutritional upgrades making life changing differences in people’s lives – because I have seen it be successful. I know we can help. And I see so many people struggle, I want to be able to provide them with the relief that I myself was lucky enough to find. It is important to me to be able to give back. And I can do that by teaching, supporting and helping others meet their goals.”

Coach Rocket (Dr. Christy Keely)

I have always been high energy. I swam in High school/College and had a brief career in triathlon before I turned to bike racing. Throughout my career in sport I worked to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine. After 5 years of working in a level 1 Neuro-trauma center and racing as a UCI professional cyclist I found I was able to help people through coaching; healing with exercise and proper nutrition. This is my passion and what I do full time now.

In 2015 I acquired a chronic disease with very little western medical treatment available. With great mentors, I began my personal deep dive into nutrition, and natural healing through lifestyle improvements.

I have stepped away from racing full time to team up with other people with illness in smashing their goals!

I found cycling as a kid to help with my attention and focus. It has always kept me balanced.

I have been racing as a professional cyclist since I was 18 years old. I won individual and team competitions for the National USA Criterium Series. I’ve also won 3 National Championships in mountain bike and criterium.

My specialties include equipment, climbing technique, and critiquing tasty ride food. You see, the longer you have been racing, the more tips and tricks you pick up. I have learned sometimes it’s better to spend 30 minutes on food prep or performing equipment check, vs an extra 30 minutes on the bike.

I retired from professional cycling in June 2019. I have been coaching remotely and coaching beginner-advanced clinics since 2012. I now coach all levels from beginners on platform pedals, all the way to current National team racers.

In 2009, I was 41, out of shape and woke up one morning to suddenly being a widow unexpectedly with a 12 yr old son to raise on my own. I knew that if I did not change my lifestyle, I would not have the best chance of being around for him and being the best that I could be and set an example for him. I worked very hard in the gym with heavy weights and rigid nutrition program and within a year I had 4 pack abs, size 4, and in the best shape of my life. (I also believed that no one could fall in love with me if I didn’t look this way or take care of myself. WOW…right?) I looked healthy but was still empty.

Injury took its toll from weights and I took up cycling which is the best thing I could have ever done. At age 48 I had hysterectomy for pre-cancer tests and poof…!!! Day after surgery I went into full blown menopause and hormone hell!!! I was working out 7 days a week, sometimes doing workouts and then cycling in the same day and was putting on weight? Really?? It’s not supposed to be like this when you work your butt off. I tried 1200 calories per day and would be starving. Didn’t work. I tried V shred. Didn’t work. Keto put on weight. Didn’t work.

In September, with support and encouragement from the most incredible man and amazing husband ever, I hired Rocket to be my personal health and wellness coach. I had watched other women/athletes that she had worked with and I wanted to be included in those successes as well. It was the best decision I ever made for my health and wellbeing. I graduated 6 months later with a new life and all the tools I need to never go back to where I was. I no longer count carbs, calories, fats, ounces… Nothing! I no longer deal with extremely painful gut issues that plagued me 85% of my days. I have lost weight without starving and being in a calorie deficit. Mentally, I’m in a great place and no longer beating myself up for things I did not understand or learn know how to take charge of them.

My total transformation and knowledge is what makes me dedicated to help other amazing women realize that they too are amazing but struggling with things like I was. I want to help them be the best of who they want to be. I realize at 52, watching my mom and sister and family pass away from cancer, that you can never ever put a price tag on your overall physical and mental health.

Coach Andrew

I got into cycling at a very young age and it has helped me grow up and find balance in life.

I have been racing and riding since I was 10 and have been able to turn my childhood dream of being a professional athlete into a reality. I have gone all the way through junior cycling and I am a current full time professional cyclist.

My specialties include playing music on rides, critiquing cheap coffee, and climbing. I also love leading RocketCamps and guided rides around the mountains. Since I started coaching with RRR it has given me perspective that has improved me as an athlete as well as a coach. My favorite part about coaching is seeing my athletes stoked about health, whether that is nailing a workout, eating clean and feeling good, or winning a big bike race! I love to coach anyone who is excited about being healthy and having fun!
